President Grant

I Ulysses S. Grant, was the 18th president of United States. I served from 1869 till 1877. I was a general in cheif of the union in 1864 to 1869. I also served as a lutenent in the Maxican-American war. Which concluded in 1848. I was elected president in 1868 as a republican and relected in 1872. I was the first president to serve 2 full terms since Andrew Jackson.

My Childhood

                    My parents names were Jesse Root Grant and Hannah Simpson Grant. I lived in  Point Pleasant, Ohio. In 1823 I moved to Georgetown, Ohio. I grew up with the Methodist faith. When I was 17 I entered the United States Military Academy (West Point). My nick name was Sam because of Uncle Sam and U.S.
